Wendy and Nigel

Wedding Location: Barley Wood, Wrington, Somerset

I can’t wait to show you these photos of Wendy and Nigel’s wedding flowers at Barley Wood.

Wendy and Nigel had a small intimate wedding at Barley Wood a gorgeous venue in the heart of the Somerset countryside.

Wendy and Nigel wanted to bring the garden inside and fill the house with gorgeous seasonal flowers and foliages. In Wendy’s words ‘If you can’t fill the house with flowers on your wedding day, when can you?!.

The House Flowers

Wendy and Nigel spent the whole weekend celebrating with their family and wanted the flowers we decorated the house with to be different to those for the wedding on the Saturday. Wendy wanted the house flowers to feel as though they had be picked from the garden so we chose a gorgeous colour palette of blues, lilac and pale pink with lots of seasonal British foliages.

Every bedroom had a vase of flowers and the main reception room had a huge wild statement mantlepiece arrangement. I love creating this style of arrangement as they are a great way of creating impact within a large room.

Wedding Flowers

Wendy and Nigel chose a subtle colour palette of blue, peach and a touch of dark plum for the flowers for the wedding celebrations on the saturday.

Wendy chose a dainty delicate bouquet to compliment her bespoke dress, full of dainty Majolika spray roses, romantic garden roses, scented stocks and deliacte foliages. Nigel wore a delicate tied buttonhole of spray roses and seasonal flowers to compliment his gorgeous floral waitscoat.

Each of the guests had their own buttonhole of seasonal flowers and foliages, this is such a lovely idea when having an intimate wedding.

Wendy and Nigel chose a mix of tall and low table arrangements for their wedding breakfast. The tall arrangements were gorgeous wild arrangements on tall gold metal stands full of beautiful British foliages, scented stocks, blousey peonies and romantic garden roses.

The tables were finished with a selection of low arrangements in rustic urns, glass bottles and cut glass candlesticks to give a romantic feel to the room.
